We do not allow attempts to request/offer/buy/sell/trade/share invites or accounts. No promoting of 'backdoor' access into usenet providers' networks. This includes hacking, using a loophole, or other methods not publicly advertised by the usenet provider. I might get downvoted for this. I'm not a member of What.cd, and from the circulated gist, I guess it is the bees knees when it comes to music. My issue is that people have been saying Usenet is crap for music for years now.
It is true, but what has been done about it? At the moment, only a select few of indexers currently meet my music needs, maybe if my search and taste widenings I might have to check it out What.cd some time. Just like most great things What.cd wasn't suddenly the Holy grail for music, it took time, effort, members, contributions. Etc to make it so. So what is stopping Usenet from doing the same for music? A while back, I made a suggestion for a mirror dump of content from the so called niche torrent trackers to Usenet. The response I got was moot.
I assume it is to some extent quite straight forward given how content propagates seemlessly between servers nowadays. Heck, I have recently noticed an increased number of releases from internal encoders groups from the torrent trackers appearing on Usenet indexers, now that is what I'm talking about. That wouldn't be much of a problem. There are a lot of scripts for trackers and especially the three big ones (PTP, BTN and WCD, which I'm all a member of). With a medium-priced dedicated it would relatively straight forward just downloading all new releases from What and uploading them to usenet. My dedi has 2TB storage and 5TB bandwidth, that should be enough for a lot of MP3s.
Somebody just has to do it. But on the other hand, usenet is under attack enough as it is because of the movies and TV shows, do you want the labels to join? Well that makes it a lot easier, somebody just has to do it then.;) I imagine that usenet is going to be fine, as long as it doesn't get much more user friendly and popular than it already is. I don't think it would matter much if more music got posted to usenet, but I don't know how much attack privat trackers like the once you mention are under? It seems to me that the labels are mostly trying to get to the big public trackers?
I'm just assuming that the labels will first try to get rid of public trackers, then privat trackers, and then usenet. But I might be naive. I'm not a member of What.cd, and from the circulated gist, I guess it is the bees knees when it comes to music. WCD does have a very diverse selection, plus it's very well organized.
If you are the kind of person who likes to track down every pressing of an album; it can be really great. At the same time; I've found stuff over at Waffles I haven't found on both. Both of them have rules about uploading content to other trackers.so unless the ripper is a member of both, or someone else rips it; there can be some interesting gaps. My issue is that people have been saying Usenet is crap for music for years now. It is true, but what has been done about it?
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I found all kinds of stuff on Usenet I might not find elsewhere. What.cd wasn't suddenly the Holy grail for music, it took time, effort, members, contributions. Etc to make it so.
So what is stopping Usenet from doing the same for music? One thing about the private trackers is they do tend to police the quality and legitimacy of releases; which is something that was hit or miss on the 'public' trackers. If torrenters simply wanted the latest release of something; they could hit something like TPB and get a copy. The people on WCD (and WFM, and OPP before those) are there because there's not only that policing of release quality (not a transcode, not corrupted), but that community aspect behind it.
You don't really have that on Usenet. Sure, you can try; but it's more difficult to really moderate usenet the same way you can something on a web-server.
You also don't have the ability to nuke 'bad' releases like transcodes. You have to rely on the person posting that they've not trying to dupe you with a transcode or something. Sure.people do respond to the poster with comments or warnings to other users; but in the world of indexers, nzb files, and things like sabnzbd; you won't see those. Then you have to rely on anything the other users of the indexing site have said.if anything. There's also that issue that you have to pay for decent usenet access.
Daz3d genesis 3 head morph. Genesis 3 Female Head Morphs allows you to morph the eyes, ears, mouth, face and nose of your Genesis 3 Female(s) to create a personality and individualized look for.
It's also does have a slightly higher learning curve; especially compared to what I remember doing back in 2002. There is no 'holy grail' for music in my opinion; just multiple tools you can utilize with more success than others. Believe it or not, a version of SoulSeek is still running; and I've actually found stuff on there I couldn't find on usenet, wcd, or waffles.
